San Antonio/Austin trip

We headed down to San Antonio for a long weekend with our Mitty at the end of June. It had been awhile since we had been for a visit and the girls love all that SA has to offer. It didn't hurt that it was post NBA finals and Mommy needed some new championship gear too! Ha.

We had a full schedule while in SA; one day at Sea World, one day at Morgan's Wonderland and then half a day to hang out. Visiting family is so wonderful. Just getting lots of time together and not feeling rushed to catchup. Mitty has all the gear needed for any age grandchild and loves spoiling her littles.

Our big surprise at Sea World was getting to 'Dine with Shamu'! Yes, so we paid extra for a behind the scenes, within 5 feet of the orcas, yummy lunch. The girls were in awe and still talk about how the big one 'Kai' come out of the water and put his tail up for all of us. Emma and Maggie also both got a chance to say hello to our sweet dolphin friend 'Nacha' at dolphin cove. We stayed at the park until after lunch but didn't feel pressure to see everything. I look forward to returning in the fall with the cooler temps. And was so glad that I had heard about the preschool pass that got Emma in free!

Emma volunteered herself to help the Bubble Lady! (So unlike my shy girl)

Hi Nacha!

Morgan's Wonderland is an amusement park built for kids of all abilities. It was built awhile ago and is very close to my mom's house, but we had never been. I loved it, loved its purpose and loved supporting such an awesome place. If you are ever close to SA and need a place to take your children under the age of 9 this is the place to go. They plan to build some sort of splash pad in the next year too. Aunt Jamie drove down to join us for this fun day. We didn't get tons of pics but there was lots to do; carousel rides, drive cars, huge playground, train, fishing and more!

All Aboard!
When we left Mitty's on Sunday we just had a short drive to Austin where we got to visit with some of our family from Arizona.  I think the last time we saw Carlos and Natalie was at our wedding and we hadn't met their three youngest children either! We only had 18 hours together but it was so fun. Emma and the twins (Asher and Gabby) were instant friends and off playing together like they had grown up together. Maggie and Samuel are the same age but Maggie loved her older girl cousins Isabella and Abigail. It was such a blessing to get to visit with all of them and we pray it happens again soon.
