Busy Weekend

Last weekend was a more fun-packed one than normal for us and we got some great videos of Emma to share!  On Saturday we had an impromptu dinner with Robert, Sandy and fam.  We went to a yummy Mexican restaurant that is on our list of favs.  Well on Fridays and Saturdays they have a couple that walk around and provide musical entertainment for the guests.  Emma absolutely loved it!  See below.  Sorry for the glare in her eyes... we turned on the flash to help light up the situation.

Then Sunday our friend Lacey celebrated her 5th birthday at Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium.  What a fun place for kids! Emma was probably a little young for the place, but she still had a great time and enjoyed getting wet!  The indoor pool is heated and so it can be used year round!  It also gave us a chance to try out her new life vest, which she mostly didn't mind.  I'd like to return here sometime when Emma is bigger and is more comfortable in the water.  (or when Mom is more comfortable with her around the water).  The place has a lazy river and big water slides.  Hours of fun to be had there as well as exhausted little ones.  :-)

Emma Update - 16 Months

As I'm sure every 16 month old is... Emma is a sponge right now... just soaking up anything we can show/teach her.  Her vocabulary is really growing and even though she can't quite pronounce many of the words she knows, she can point at things or make signs that tell me what she's trying to talk about.  Or I've learned her version of the word.  As if being floored by her vocabulary wasn't enough, she's quickly picking up her colors and letters.  She'll just point to letters on the fridge and tell me what they are... and I've even asked her what some words start with and she gets about half of them right!! 

We've gotten some good videos lately and wanted to share them.  But beware... they are 2-5 min long. 

Color Video - Notice how she puts the tail down near the fish to find its match.  We made her do this again for the video, hence her want to be done.

Alphabet Video & More

One of my favorite things Emma has been doing lately is praying with us at meals.  Not that she gives thanks yet, but she recognizes the need to take time before eating to thank our Lord.  She was holding her hands for many of the first weeks but now she likes holding hands of everyone there.  And I love hearing her sweet 'Amen' at the end of our prayers.
