15 Months

Miss Maggie Elizabeth is 15 months old.  Can't believe its flying by so fast... Since her last wellness checkup we'd have to say her major development has been her speech.  She says several words but her regulars are; wa-wa (water), lovey, play, walk, ni-ni (night night), pray, amen, emma, mommy, daddy, doggy etc.  A month or so ago she even told Billy one night "lovey all gone" cause she couldn't find her lovey amongst all her blankets in her bed.

She also is showing to have a great passion for shoes.  No matter who's they are, she wants them on her feet.  Which leads us to her next major development... walking.  She had taken 3-4 steps and then on her 15 month birthday... BAM... she's walking across the living room.  Its a wonderfully scary development but she is so proud of herself!  Emma even likes to run across the room from her and tell Maggie to walk to her.  I cherish seeing these two really playing and interacting together.  Only a few more months and I imagine I'll transition more into 'Referee Mommy Mode'.  Get me my whistle please!

Maggie has also dropped her morning nap so we decided to sign her up at Wycliffe's childcare one day a week to give me some cleaning/cooking/mommy time to get things done when I needed.  I will miss you morning nap, but thankfully she takes a nice long afternoon nap.  Maggie is still in size 3 diapers and taking 2.5 bottles a day.  She still sleeps between 11-12 hours a night but always seems to be up a little earlier than Emma.

This exam room has a dog theme... and this is the Dog House!
Always a big attraction. :-)

15 Month Stats:

August 2013

Wow... what a month we just finished up!  So many fun things.  I had to post some pictures because there were just too many activities to blog about... August had some cooler days and some nice rainy weather!  So we got to have some fun outdoor outings without all the sweat and heat exhaustion!

First we had a trip to the Dallas Zoo with the Walter Ladies!  So fun!  April and Haley gave this gift to Emma for her birthday and it was so much fun to see the three of them running around!  Maggie was still strolling.  We were so thankful for special times with friends and for an overcast day!

Checking out the ducks!

Riding the kangaroos

Our  next big news for August is that Maggie upgraded into her very own convertible car seat.  I think she really likes facing forward.  But I think this chair makes her look like a big girl.  No baby girl, you can't grow up!

Towards the end of August, Grandy hosted a Tea Party for six of her little granddaughters!  Very sweet considering she did it in celebration of her own birthday!  Of course, she went all out and had all the clothes, accessories, makeup and perfume for the little ladies.  It was so much fun and the girls loved it!

Girls and their shoes.  Miss Anna on the far right had some big heels on!!

Maggie dressed up too!

Grandy even let the girls use her nice china! No accidents at all!

Our last big event in August was a quick trip down to Austin to visit with Aunt Jamie, Granddad and Grandma.  What great fun for only a few days! (and lots of pictures thanks to Aunt Jamie).  I love that our families live so close and that we get to see them often.  We played outside, took Granddad out to lunch, went to the Austin Children's Museum (before it permanently closed) and just hung out.

Maggie wanted sunglasses too!

Gotta eat at Rudy's!

Caught this great photo!  Yes, Emma has some ups!
Last night trip to Amy's Ice Cream!

I'd say Maggie likes it! Peace, Love and Ice Cream!

Aunt Jamie captured these next few photos... love them!  This swing is in high demand when we go!

What trip would be complete without a dressup party??  Emma called herself a 'princess' in this dress!  :-)
