Two Years Old

I know I say it every time one of them gets another year older, but can't believe our sweet baby girl is two years old.  Maggie is blossoming into her own little self and it is truly a privilege and a blessing to be a part of her growing up.

Maggie still loves her two fingers to suck on and lovey is a must have to all events.  Thankfully she appeases her mommy and leaves the 'clean' lovey home and takes the 'school' lovey with her on outings.  She still takes a great afternoon nap (2-3 hours) and sleeps about 10.5-11 hours at night.  This has changed a little bit lately since we moved the girls in together in their 'Sister Room' (another blog coming on that one).  But overall, she's still getting good rest and growing like a champ.  At two years of age, she only lacks one set of molars.  We have toyed with potty training at home but nothing real serious.  But the last few weeks at school, she's been going for her teacher all by herself!  It's happened twice and I loved telling her teacher that was her first time ever and seeing Miss Paula's face!  She was excited to share in Maggie's accomplishments! Maggie's speech is still amazing us all.  She is very intentional about what she's telling you and takes her time getting the words out.  And as wonderful as her speech is, sometimes we have to be careful.  Whatever is on her mind will come out of her mouth... even in public.  And she also thinks her parents know every person in the world because she always asks us "who's that Mommy?".  So cute.

Although Maggie very much wants to do what her sister is doing, she has a very different personality.  We find her sometimes just looking through books or just playing with some sort of building toys by herself.  She doesn't comply as easily as her big sister, but likes to test her boundaries a little more (I know this will be good characteristic for her to have when she gets older).  She seems a little bit more outgoing than Emma and more likely to entertain.  That could also just be an age difference thing.  Even though she does get sad when we drop her off at school or sunday school, she gets over it way faster than Emma did.

Her two year old checkup went great.  She kept telling her doctor about her pink toenails and how well she can jump. Here's her two year old stats:

Weight:  25 lbs (25%)
Height:  32 7/8" (25%)
Head Circumference:  19.25" (85%)

She's a little shorter/lighter than Emma was at 2, but the head circumference is almost the same.

For Maggie's party, Momma choose a Fiesta theme.  A huge shout out to Mitty who single handedly provided 90% of the decorations and all of the Bruce party outfits!  I didn't get as many photos as I would've liked of all the decorations but we still had a great time.  Since Maggie was one of the youngest in attendance at her party, we did the 'limbo' game.  She was really good!! :-)  Then we had a piñata before throwing everyone in the pool!  It was a fun time celebrating our sweet little toddler.  And I think she had fun too!

Limbo Champion!

Maggie really knew how to swing at the piñata... it was quite surprising how well she could hit it.
Don't let this girl have a stick/bat!!
Thank you God for blessing all our lives with this sweet little girl.  What a joy she is and how grateful we are to be her parents.  Love you Maggie.  Can't wait to see what the next year brings you!
