Easter 2014

Grandma Mitty came into town for the long Easter weekend this year.  It was so much fun to have her here and we stayed so busy. She flew in Thursday night and then we hit the ground running with a zoo visit on Friday, bluebonnet pictures and an egg hunt on Saturday as well as an impromptu lunch with friends and then church and more fun before Mitty headed back on Sunday. Of course, there was a bunch of shopping and other side trips in there too. So prepare yourself for a photo dump... and if you see something on Emma's face... yes, she scratched herself in her sleep sometime last week which made for nice pictures this weekend.  I gotta learn how to edit small stuff like that out.  ;-)  Hope each of you had an amazing Easter weekend celebrating the death and resurrection of our Lord.

Couldn't miss out on the bluebonnets this year... the same spot we used last year was booming again with lots of flowers and very few visitors.  I can't complain too much with the photos as we got these and more in under 15 minutes.  We had places to go people!!

Hi View Ranch in Midlothian hosted an Easter Egg Hunt.  It was really nice and all proceeds went to the Salvation Army.  I loved it cause it wasn't too packed but still had lots for the kids to do; face painting, pony rides, Muttin Bustin!!!, bounce houses, hay rides etc.  Emma had her first encounter with the Easter Bunny here though and she was ready to go home.  It was so sad.  She really does have a fear of people dressed up in full costumes.  We've seen this trend with the Chick Fil A cow and an Alligator person that was the mascot for a pediatric dentist in town.  If only they could take off the heads, we think she'd be okay.  But we convinced her to stay although the bunny was too close for her to enjoy her egg hunt.  Oh well, maybe next year she won't be so fearful.

Looking pretty comfy in that saddle Emma!

Maggie's first pony ride attempt.  Better luck next time.

Ready to go!

After church, we snapped a few photos of the girls in their dresses.  Sadly, Billy was serving in both services this weekend so we missed getting a family shot... but who really wants to see the parents with these two cuties around.
